←Task 12

Drop Menu (Required)

Preparation: Work through project 6, "CSS-Driven Drop-down Menus," in More Eric Meyer on CSS.

Task: On a separate page, copy the links for your site into a two-tiered list (e.g., study assignment page, which uses first tier of html, css, javascript, plus second tiers). Style this list for drop-down (or slide-out) menus following More Meyer project 6.

Note: Do 1 (ONE) of the following only.

CSS Photo Album

Preparation: Work through project 2, "Styling a Photo Collection," in More Eric Meyer on CSS.

Task: Create a photo album of your own following the model of More Meyer 2. Refer to notes (week 3) on photoshop image cropping and sizing. Add image meta-data (caption, etc.) of your own choosing. Include at least 6 images on your page; add page to site navigation.

JavaScript Photo Album

Preparation: Review notes on DOM / DHTML for "DHTML for Remote Rollover Effects".

Task: Create a page with at least 6 thumbnail images on one half of the page, with matching 6 full-size images on other side, with some text associated with each image. Establish javascript such that rolling over the thumbnail div causes the fullsize divs to swap for higher-resolution, larger size image.

Independent Original Project

You may undertake any independent page-level project demonstrating original and advanced work with css or javascript, based on Meyer or on any concept of page of your own. Note: Prepare a brief description of the project, referencing any background material, and submit to Dr. Logan for approval prior to beginning any independent work.
